The Pitztal is a roughly forty kilometer long side valley in the center of the Ötztal Alps. It starts right below the highest mountain in Tyrol – the Wildspitze. The valley is sandwiched between the two ridges Kaunergrat and Geigenkamm. The biggest tourist attraction of the valley is the cable car to the Hinterer Brunnenkogel (3438 m), the highest place accessible by cable car in Austria.
