At the former important road junction, in the Portela pass, is the famous Miradouro da Portela viewpoint. From here there is a beautiful view of the secluded volcanic peak of Penha de Águia (589 m above sea level) – Eagle Rock. It is truly an unmissable landmark of the landscape. The mountain is located near the town of Porto da Cruz.
