The views from the Queen of the Mountains were popular with tourists as early as the 19th century. In 1825, the innkeeper Antonín Weber had huts built with the possibility of refreshments. Today's appearance of the lookout tower dates from 1904. A year later, a meteorological observatory also began to operate here. After World War II, access to the tower was closed to the public. The reopening did not take place until 1998.
