Greenwich is an area of south east London. It is located inside the royal district, after which it also got its name. Greenwich is notable for its maritime history and also gave its name to the Greenwich meridian and Central European time. Here you will find the royal palace of Placentia from the 15th century, which was the birthplace of many Tudors, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.
