Northern part of the island
The northern part of Corfu offers a large number of beaches. They are rocky and sandy beaches, overcrowded and deserted. However, most of them have in common the absence of shade in their surroundings with the sellers of sunbeds and parasols. In some parts it is possible to stay under the parasol and have a drink in the bar, others charge a special fee for it. These are easily accessible beaches, but also those where you can get either by a more demanding journey or by boat. In some it is possible to observe underwater life.
Rovinia beach
Hidden beauty
It is a pebble beach, hidden from view. I do not recommend using the nearest parking lot by the beach, because there is a bad road on it and along the way you feel multiple times that you will destroy the car. It is a beautiful pebble beach with a cave on its edge. The disadvantage of the beach is, in addition to accessibility, also a very low water temperature, which allows bathing only the more hardy. The advantage is the beautiful clear water, half-empty beach and the opportunity to observe underwater life. continue reading
Logas beach
Under the cliff
It is a very narrow beach, where the tide comes in the evening and it reduces the size of the beach to a minimum until it disappears completely over time. It is a sandy beach with big waves, so it is ideal for crawling but it is not suitable for children. It is located in the northwestern part of the island under the cliffs. Above the beach there is a nice parking lot where you can watch the sunset. continue reading
Avlaki beach
Empty beaches
The beach is located in the northeastern part of the island. It is a pebble beach, so it can be used for snorkeling and in addition there are no crowds of tourists. The disadvantage of this is that there are no sunbeds and, paradoxically, the surrounding restaurants and bars are much more expensive than in places frequented by tourists. From the beach you can go for a 6 km long walk through the original forest, which does not occur elsewhere on the island. continue reading
La Grota beach
Cafe by the rock
It is not a beach in the classical sense, I would rather call it a cafe by the sea. This is a very small space around the cafe where you can get into the water and at the same time order a boat that will take you to one of the inaccessible beaches, where there is a chance that you will have your own privacy. It's possible to sit on the rocks, but I can't talk about something comfortable. However, if you are missing a place by the sea from which you could jump, then this is the right place for you. continue reading
Love beach
Canal de Amour
One of the most visited beaches on the island of Corfu, located in the north of the island near the resort of Sidari. Legend has it that the one who bathes in this water will be the first person he sees when performing will be his life partner. The canal is always full and especially the beach by the canal where there are sunbeds. continue reading
Agios Georgios beach
Infinitely long beach
Agios Georgios beach is one of the longest beaches in the northern part of Corfu. It is a pebble beach with small fine pebbles and fewer tourists. The disadvantage of the beach is that there is no shade and they want a fee of around 7–10 euros for sunbeds compared to other resorts. The water is colder here, but overall this applies to all the beaches in the west of the island. If you go by car, it is not a problem to park directly at the beach, as there are fewer tourists. continue reading
Sidari beach
A typical beach resort
Sidari is one of the most famous and largest tourist centers on the north side of the island. The beach is full of people, but it is still not an extremely crowded beach where you can't move. It is possible to find a parasol here on the beach, which is mostly conditioned by a certain consumption in the bar that owns them. It is a sandy beach with a gradual descent into the sea, so it is also suitable for small children and seniors. There are many attractions on the beach. continue reading
Avlaki east beach
Hidden beauty
The beach is about a 15-minute walk from Avlaki Beach. It is a hidden beach where not many tourists come. Which also has a disadvantage, because you won't find a bit of shadow here. It is a pebble beach, where you can dive especially in its peripheral parts. It is the first beach to walk through the forests in the east of the island. At the entrance to the beach there is a large sign that it is a boring beach, but at the time of my visit there was no one who would not have a swimsuit. continue reading
