Just off the coast of Turkey lies the beautiful mountainous Greek island of Samos. Its dominant feature is the second highest mountain in the Aegean Sea – Kerkris (1,443 m above sea level). Here you will find not only beautiful beaches, but also an interesting interior with kilometers of marked hiking trails. The island is famous for its excellent sweet wine. The most famous resorts include Kokkari and Pythagorio. Those who prefer peace and quiet will find the resort of Kampos below the highest mountain of the island
