Walk to the church of Profitis Ilias
Beautiful views of the north of the island of Samos
Directly above the road junction to the mountain village of Vourliotes rises a small hill with a snow-white church on top. If you have a moment, be sure to go for a short walk and enjoy the beautiful view from the top, including the famous beach of Tsambou
Road to the church
You can't miss the way to the church, it's partially renovated and the stones and stairs are painted white. From the beginning it leads through a pine grove. It is only less than 200 meters from the road to the church and about 20 meters of elevation gain
At the church
After a few minutes of climbing, we are finally at the top, where there is a really picturesque church
Inland views of Samos
From the church there is a really beautiful view of the interior of Samos. The village of Vourliotes itself lies below the top of the mountain on the horizon and is led by a road with thirteen curves.
Sea views
To the west is a nice view of the sea to the town of Agios Konstantinos
View of Tsambou beach
The view of the famous Tsambou beach deep below us is also interesting
Sitting above the church
The very top of the hill is a short distance above the church from where we can enjoy the surrounding countryside

The church was not locked, so I could see its austere but well-kept interior. A walk to the church was definitely worth it
