Places with presence of animals

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:
  • Surprisingly, one attraction related with animals can be found directly in Kathmandu. There are giant indian fruit bats that are up to a meter and a half tall. Then there are widely seen macaques.
  • Interesting for tourists are also shaggy yaks laden with heavy expedition material high in the mountains.

Typical vegetation

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

The most typical for Nepal are beautiful rhododendron trees growing here up to 20 meters. It is also a Nepali national tree. Rhododendrons bloom in March and April, which is also the second main season for trekking. Another attraction is beautiful terraced rice fields. In summer, during monsoon season, are the rice fields beautifully green. In October they are already yellow and are gradually harvested.

Nepal is not just mountains, but such lowlands in the south of the country with lots of animals. Interesting vegetation includes beautiful rice fields and flowering rhododendrons. A lover of wildlife will definitely enjoy in Nepal

Safari

  • The most famous safari in Nepal is inChitwan National Park near the border with India, where you can with a bit of luck admire rhinos, but also elephants, gharials and abundant birds. A trip to Chitwan is mostly bought as a several day package already in Kathmandu.

Observing of Animals

Nepal is a famous wildlife observation site. There are several national parks where you can enjoy a classic Asian safari from the back of an elephant.

Interesting vegetation

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

Thanks to an incredibly big change in altitude on a small breadth of the land the vegetation change very quickly, often many times during several hours of hiking.

ZOO

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

In Nepal, there is only one ZOO in Lalitpur, south of the center of Kathmandu. About 700 animals are bred here. Web HERE.
