  • In the northwest of Belize City is international airport
  • You can get to Belize by remote bus from Chetumal (Mexico) or Flores (Guatemala)
  • Air – the fastest, but more expensive option. Several flights are from Belize City to various towns and to islands Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker mostly by small aircrafts. It is usually necessary to book the flight in advance due to the restricted capacity.
  • Buses – a few lines go on the main route between Punta Gorda to Belmopan and Belize City. Most buses in Belize are decommissioned school buses from the USA.
  • Boats – frequent destination of boats from Belize City is the island of Caye Caulker and town San Pedro on the south of island Ambergris Caye.
  • By car – people drive here on the right side. There are three main highways, which can get you almost everywhere and are well maintained. North highway leads from the Mexican border to Belize City, West highway leads from Belize City to the border with Guatemala and Hummingbird highway leads to the south of Belize.
  • On the island of Caye Caulker it is possible only to walk, go by bike or golf cart. There are no cars running here.
