Trip to Rakotzbrücke

In northeastern Saxony, just a short distance from Poland and Brandenburg, there is one of the biggest tourist attractions – the Rakotzbrücke bridge. The shortest walk to the bridge and back to the parking lot is only one kilometer, so practically everyone can do it. The walk leads from the parking lot through the forest to the lake, which it completely bypasses and returns the same way.
First view of Rakotzbrücke
You can find a large (paid) parking lot just before the village of Kromlau. From there, it's about 250 meters along the forest road to the western end of the lake, from where you can already see the famous Rakotzbrücke bridge with its perfect reflection in the water surface

The most famous view of the bridge
There are a number of viewpoints along the entire lake, but this one from the west is probably the most famous. Behind the bridge you can also see the second sculptural rest – the rock organ – Orgel

Rakotzbrücke from the east
Access to the bridge itself is quite understandably prohibited. Right behind it is another nice viewpoint

The lake around Rakotzbrücke
Even the lake itself, around which the hiking trail leads, is quite nice

Organ
Outside the bridge, you will also find basalt stelae symbolizing the organ

Statue of Hercules
The entire park, including all local rock formations and sculptures, was created at the impulse of romanticism in the middle of the 19th century. We return to the parking lot by the same route.
