The most famous waterfall in Langkawi is called Telaga Tujuh or Seven Wells Waterfall. It is very accessible from the car park located just a short distance from the famous cable car. The protected area itself belongs to the Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park, which is more than 25 square kilometers of unspoiled native jungle at the western end of Langkawi. It is only 550 meters to the actual waterfall, but you can extend the walk significantly more.

Stairs in the jungle

From the parking lot (where there are several refreshment options) you can climb the first tens of meters by stairs or by a technical road leading to the crossroads of hiking trails

Surrounding vegetation

Around the path there is beautiful vegetation with trees with typical plate roots. After less than 300 meters of ascent and 60 meters in height, you are at the crossroads (there are also toilets). You can now climb further uphill or turn and gently descend to the 7 Wells waterfall. According to the interesting map here, the parking lot is level 1, these toilets are level 2 and the waterfall is level 3. You can get up to level 7 which is the top of Gunung Machinchang (701m), but that's quite a feat.

Cable Car View

On the way to the waterfall, there is also a Cable Car View marked on the map, which is not lying. You can really see the top of the mountain with the cable car here.

7 Wells Waterfall

Finally we come to the waterfall itself. The rock wall is impressive, but in the dry season when we are here, not much water flows through it.

What is definitely worth it is to go down the rock plates a few tens of meters below. This is because there is a swimming lake that refreshes you perfectly.

Swimming pool under the waterfall 7 Wells

There are relatively many visitors at the waterfall, but only a fraction come to the swimming pool, so it's nice and quiet

A pond with natural slides

The water flows into the lake on smooth rock slabs that you can use as natural slides.

View of the waterfall from the pond

The view of the waterfall from the pond is even more picturesque than from the place directly below it, where everyone takes pictures.
