Article Visit of Pollonia

Beach in Pollonia is about three hundred meters long and has a really nice entry into the water. Although you will certainly do not feel here like in a wilderness, but the adjacent part of the old town with a church looks very romantic. If you do not have a beach umbrella, you may use the shade under the numerous trees that line the beach.

 

When lying on the beach or swimming in the calm waters of the bay, you can enjoy stunning views to the neighboring mountainous island Kimolos and a small chapel on the outpost.
 

A number of coastal taverns are followed by a small harbor, from where departs a few times a day the ferry to the neighboring island of Kimolos – a possible tip for an interesting day trip from Milos.

The afternoon heats and pleasant evenings can be spend in one of several taverns that line the old town.
 

The highest landmark of the town is, of course, white-washed church.
 

If you want to make a short but nice walk, set out along the beach to the outpost with a small church. Already after a while you will have nice views of the entire old town.

 

Almost on the outpost is a small but picturesque church of Agios Nikolaos.
 

From a small hill above the church is a nice panoramic view of the whole bay. 

Directly opposite, across the strait, stretches even less populated island than Milos – volcanic, mountainous Kimolos.
