At the end of the twenty-kilometer long valley lies between the mountains very picturesque town Abyaneh. It is famous not only for its beautiful location and red houses, but also for different culture and local customs. Most local houses have beautiful wood carved doors. It is advisable to be here in the morning before numerous souvenirs stalls open. Before tourists from more distant towns such as Esfahan arrive, it looks here more truthful. At the entrance to the town you can obtain a map with marked most interesting buildings in the town.

View of the mountains

To the south of Abyaneh are mountain ranges higher than three thousand meters above sea level. If you set out here for a trip, you will probably not meet a living soul for the whole day.

Nice place to live

The entire oasis contrasts to the surrounding arid landscape. Moreover, there is quite pleasant weather even in an extremely Iranian hot summer, thanks to the higher altitude and shade from the trees.

Unfortunately, the heyday is long gone for relatively many local houses and they gradually fall into disrepair. You will also see a lot of old people in the streets.
