View from Stupa Nezer Latho
Abandoned outlook of Leh
Halfway between the bus station and the old town on a small hillock lie old cracked stupa Nezer Latho, from which is unexpectedly beautiful view to all directions. The entire Leh oasis with the royal palace, Namgyal Tsemo gompa and mosques sticking out of the old town are just at your fingertips. It is not easy to find the way to it, so it is outside the interest of the mass tourists.
View of the city Leh
The most beautiful view is certainly to the north to the old town, a green oasis around it and in June still snowy ridge of Ladakh´s mountains on the horizon, but other views are not bad as well.
Royal palace Little Potala
The nine floor royal palace in Leh, often called Little Potala, dominates over the old town. It is without a doubt the most important monument around Leh.
Town in the mountain wilderness
The town stretches up to the foot of the dusty desert mountains.
Entrance gate to Leh City
The Stupa is just less than 300 meters away from the so-called gateway to Leh.
Looking south
The view to the south should be on the Indus valley, but it is hidden behind a small ridge that separates Leh from the poor town of Choglomsar on one side and the airport on the other.
Stok mountains
The most favourite view from Leh is to Stok mountain with the highest mountain of the same name Stok Kangri (6153 m asl).
