If you arrive to Leh by air, it is ideal to acclimatize here to high altitude for at least two or three days. Moreover, in this case it is no loss of precious time, because the trips to the surroundings are very nice. You can also set out for perfect one-day more difficult hike from Leh. It is a good preparation for the forthcoming trekking in Ladakh.

Day 1

North oasis of the city and ascent to the Secret mountain

The first day of acclimatization hiking, head to the northern end of the city, where a solitaire chorten enthrones on the moraine. From there continue on to the Secret Mountain above Leh, from where opens an amazing view of the entire city and broad valley of Indus with massive Stok Kangri in the background. The entire circuit can be combined with a visit of Shanti Stupa and ruins of ancient Tisserru stupa.

In the afternoon, you can set out to almost unknown, but beautiful outlook point from stupa Nezer Latho.
