The Maya Bay beach is the most famous in Thailand. The movie the beach was set on the Maya Bay beach. You can get there from the Koh Phi Phi Don island, which you can reach from the Krabi area by ship.

Journey to the Koh Phi Phi Don

First you need to get to the Koh Phi Phi Don island by regular ferry from different parts of the Krabi area (e.g. Krabi town, Phuket, Koh Lanta etc.). It's better for you to take a ferry, which is cheaper than private ships. Going by ferry costs about ten dollars depending on distance.

There are many shops, restaurants and various types of accommodation. You can arrange a trip to the Maya Bay beach in local agencies or tourist agents. If you don't arrange the trip yourself, you can ask staff in your resort and they arrange it for you. The best way to go there is to use traditional boat called „long tail boat“. This type of boat is colourful and nicely decorated. You can choose from two options: private boats or shared boats.
