Tour of the wine village on the border with Austria
On the very southern edge of the Znojmo district near the border with Austria, you will find the rather picturesque wine village of Hnanice. There is a nice church in the center and then there is the traditional Sklepní ulička. So you can not only taste wine here, but also take a short walk through the village and its surroundings.
Church of St. Wolfgang in Hnanice
The center of Hnanice is náměstí sv. Wolfganga with the church of the same name. It is a very old church from the 15th century built in the Gothic style.
Cellar street in Hnanice
There is not much to see on the square outside the church, so we continue straight to the biggest attraction here – Sklepní Street in Hnanice.
In the basement street
There are, of course, a number of options for wine tasting and accommodation in Cellar Street.
Hnanica vineyards
The road slowly leads us out of the village and vineyards stretch everywhere as far as the eye can see.
Hnanický pond
At the places where our path comes to a crossroads, we turn right and follow the yellow hiking trail to the local pond.
Chapel of St. John the Baptist
After the pond, we will leave the tourist route and between the houses we will start to climb the Na Skále hill (305 m). In the vicinity of Hnanice there are a number of chapels, one of which is the chapel of St. John the Baptist, which we will pass on the way up.
Niche chapel of St. Wenceslas
Finally, we are at the main goal of our walk at the niche chapel of St. Wenceslas.
View of Hnanice
From the chapel there is a beautiful view of Hnanice and all the way to Austria.
A beautiful vantage point for the wine region
We can return to the center via Pod Skálou Street, for example
