Secret and fabulous views
It is possible to ascent high above the valley along the herders trails from the camp Chuskyurmo and enjoy, especially in the evening, great views over ladackh landscape with countless number of colorful arid mountain ridges. In addition, the outlook will be just for you as it is not registered in any classical schedule of Markha trek.
Ladackhs field
There is also the highest located barley field in this valley at the camp. A short walk from it begins the ascent first to the lookout headland, where you can still meet a few people, and then even further into the wilderness.
At the lookout
The lookout above the camp is the first truly amazing place on this trek – colorful rocks in combination with blue sky and green field give it here in the evening a truly magical touch.
Shadow play
You may stay quite a long time at the lookout, since moving clouds make with their shadows always new sceneries. Here ends the majority of those who stay in camp Chuskyurmo. But if you look behind you, you will find out that the hillside above you looks quite walkable and there are also imperceptible paths, more likely from animals than from people, and they end in something like a pass. So if you feel like you can go up to enjoy much broader views!
View of the mountains of Ladakh
The mountains in Ladakh behind Indus valley peak out with increasing meters. Below you can see a small green oasis Chogda.
View of Chuskyurmo
After an hour and a half you will ascend to "pass“ where you will find out that it is just a small terrain break and then continues lighter wavy terrain up to the ridge that is more than a kilometer and a half away. This is a good alternative for those who ascend here earlier in the day. For those who have less time, there is possibility of an ascent straight up over this terrain break, but the slope is scree with occasional spiny plants, so this additional ascent is not so pleasant – but the outlook at 500 meters altitude above the campsite is well worth it.
View of the main ridge
From the lookout you can also see a bit of the main ridge with small remnants of glaciers. You will overcome this ridge a little bit farther in not-icy pass Kongmaru la.
The opposite ridge
If you set off in the late afternoon, so you will come back at the sunset or late in the evening. At least you will see the play of colors on the opposite ridge.
