A short trip or part of a larger Krkonoše circuit is the ascent from Spálený Mlýn to Pomezní boudy. On this five-kilometer walk you will enjoy the meadows and cottages of the Krkonoše Mountains and, of course, the view of Sněžka. If you don't want to go uphill practically all the time, you can of course go the other way around. There is a bus stop at the beginning and end of this route

Start of ascent

This tour starts / ends at ** Spálený Mlýn ** in the valley of the river Malá Úpa. All the way you will climb the narrow asphalt around the mountain huts and guesthouses. So it is not a problem to refresh yourself practically anywhere.

Under the Pomezní ridge

The sunny meadows are cleared in the otherwise much forested Pomezní ridge. The least visited part of the Krkonoše ridge leads through it from Pomezní bud to Žacléř.

Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

About halfway through this tour (after about 30–45 minutes, depending on your pace) you will reach one of the largest historical monuments in the Giant Mountains – the church of St. Peter and St. Paul (975m above sea level). It is considered the highest church in the Czech Republic.

Crossroads in Dolní Malá Úpa

To continue, you can choose three paths – yellow, blue and red, each at a slightly different altitude. The best choice is probably the blue one.

This is followed by a boring section of more than half a kilometer through the forest before the view of the destination of this short hike opens up – Horní Malá Úpa lying below the Forest Ridge.

Views of Sněžka and Svorova hora

Across the meadows is a beautiful view of the highest mountain in the Czech Republic – Sněžka. In front of it is still a huge spherical Svorová mountain
