They been there:

After the lunch in Ghyaru or a trip to the chorten above it follows a short stage lasting approximately two hours between villages Ghyaru and Ngawal leading almost along the contour-line at about 3700 meters above sea level with a parade view of Pisang Peak and Annapurnas towering behind the valley.

Annapurna II from Ghyaru

Tourist trail leads from Ghyaru above the village, so it is possible to observe crop drying on the roofs of this strongly agricultural settlement. Even this view confirms what a great observatory of Annapurna II. it is.

The way through the fields

From the beginning you walk more than half a kilometer almost as along a straight line, which is quite unusual for Nepal :-). There are plenty of fields lying two hundred vertical meters up and down around the way. So there is the field work associated with mountain tourism.

The ascent to the promontory

The path has a few small ascents, the biggest one is to a scenic headland – but the views from here are worth it.

Ghyar as the palm of your hand

After an hour's walk from Ghyaru you finally ascend to a small promontory above the valley, from where you can easily see the whole agricultural oasis. Pisang peak towers above all this. It is not hard to imagine how far the glacier (which now retreats for a few meters even here every year) was reaching years ago.

The view of Marsyangdi valley

From the headland you can also see 400 vertical meters down into Marsyangdi valley. Below on the right there is the lower path /not recommended by us/ and on the horizon Pisang village, in which you must decide whether you will go faster  along the lower path without better views or at the top with parade views of Annapurnas.

End of Marsyangdi valley

From the headland you will also see for the first time the end of the Marsyangdi valley. Deep down you can see small airport in Humde. Slightly beyond it joins the upper path back to the bottom path.

View of Chulu East

After a while open also the first views of Chulu quite romantically rising above the sparse pine forests.

Ngawal in sight

Ngawal is lying on another fertile agricultural upland plateau with several interesting options for side trips. Most trekkers walk the stage Pisang – Manang and are just going through here, but it is quite a mistake.

Mani Wall before Ngawal

Just before Ngawal there is impressive Mani Wall with almost infinite number of prayer wheels.
