Milovský pond is a good tourist starting point for rocky peaks east of the Nine Rocks. The main goal of this circuit are the Dráteničky rocks belonging to the protected natural monument Drátenická skála. Beautiful views of the meadows to the east of the rocks also await you

Milovy Pond

The starting point for this hike is the Milovy pond, where you can park a little below its dam. Right at the beginning is a view of Malinská skála on the horizon – an optional side trip.

Road to the crossroads of Drátenice

After a few meters walk we will connect to the green hiking trail, which will take us another 2.5 kilometers. We walk through the camp, where it is possible to have a snack and after a while we disappear in the forest, where we climb along a good but quite boring path up to the crossroads of Drátenička, where a red hiking trail joins. Here I recommend taking a walk to Malinska rock with beautiful views and then come back. We continue to another crossroads, which is also called Dráteničky, and here we leave the green route that leads to Kadov.

Ascent to Malinská skála

One of the most beautiful views in Žďárské vrchy

Altitude: 783 m / 2 569 ft

Malinská skála (811 m above sea level) is not only one of the highest peaks in Žďárské vrchy, but it is also… continue reading

Final ascent to Dráteničky

From the crossroads, the red hiking trail turns into the forest again, but you can walk along the meadow along its region, which I found more pleasant.

Natural monument Drátenická skála

Finally we are here under Drátnická rock. It is a popular place for climbers, which is not surprising. The rock massif is impressive – almost 200 meters long

Wonderful panorama of Blatina

Just a few meters from the rocks you can walk out of the forest to the meadows and enjoy the beautiful panorama around Blatina – certainly one of the most beautiful places in Žďárské vrchy. If you were thinking about a snack, this place is ideal, definitely better than on the rocks, where a lot of people hang out

Descent through the meadows

The descent through the meadows is very pleasant with a nice view. The Buchtův kopec air traffic control radar station can also be seen. Below Blatiny, we connect to the road, where sometimes a car passes. We leave this road near the cottage areas and come back to the Milova pond along the trail

Around Milovský pond

Now we have it really a bit to the starting point. But we can extend it a bit by going around the pond from its southern side – this will see the inflow of Černý potok into the pond and we can visit the refreshments again.
