Rest day under the peaks of Anaga
A ride on the narrow roads of the northern Anaga Mountains, magnificent views and rugged coastline, attacked by ocean waves, is a relaxing day in this beautiful part of Tenerife.
East Coast
The TF-12 road leads along the Anaga mountain ridge. In several places there are rest areas with views of both sides of the coast. To the east you can see the neighboring island of Gran Canaria.
Road
Deep below us is the TF-134 road, the numerous bends of which we will enjoy in a moment on the way to the village of Benijo.
Taganana
The road leads through the original wine village Taganana, which is worth a separate visit.
Benijo
From Taganana we continue by car along the coast, our destination is Benijo. There is not much parking space here, at ten in the morning we find one of the last available spaces.
Benijo
From here, only the unpaved road leads to El Draguillo with a beautiful dragon and the opportunity to continue along the attractive and rugged coastline.
Almáciga
To the southeast you can see the village of Almáciga and the steep walls of the peaks of Anaga.
Coast
The massive rocky island of Roque de Dentro dominates in the opposite direction. From the glued traffic sign we descend a narrow path down to the ocean.
Playa Benijo
This beach combines rocky islands, stones, pebbles and black sand.
Playa Benijo
There is not much for swimming, there are usually large waves or strong back currents. But you can spend a long time here bypassing the coast and watching the waves relentlessly attacking the rugged coastline.
Playa Benijo
Sometimes we get too close přib After a steep ascent in the same way, we watch a beautiful natural theater from a respectful, safe distance from the terrace of a local restaurant. They have great fish specialties and the popular café cortado.
