Marmolada, the only mountain in the Dolomites, which is partly shrouded in glaciers, so you can ski here even in summer. Thanks to the late arrival to Lake Fedaia, we choose the local cable car, which will take us from 2000 to 2600m high resort. From here we step on our own. Unfortunately, we left the equipment for ferratas in the camp, so the trip was under the slogan: We will go as far as we can go.

Cable car to Marmolade

The cable car, how to call it, the kind of fence where two are crammed and praying that it will not fall with them, but the experience :-)

Views of the Sassolungo massif

We found our way from the cable car station only by chance, when after a constant look around we saw three figures walking down the rubble.

To the saddle

about 100 altitude meters descend from the cable car so that we could bypass the rock behind which we had to cross a large snow field, here we said to ourselves: ,, to the saddle and we go back .. ,,

Ferrata

..joo to the saddle :-D about 100m in front of the saddle we were surprised in the form of boarding the ferrata. It didn't look threatening, according to the map, there shouldn't be anything like that here, but what else. We have some experience with climbing, even from the previous day, when we tried one local rock. So we took the steel rope and hurray for the saddle :-) … another nut, wall, rope under you 50m space, nothing for those who do not like heights

Way to the top

if you are not afraid of heights, that's it, you just hold on and think of every other handle or step, we have not experienced better concentration :-)

Marmolada peak 3343

we are upstairs. Feelings of exhaustion, alternating feelings of happiness, satisfaction, and finally rest. The weather is getting cloudy, but it doesn't look like rain. Even so, we stay for a good half an hour, if not longer. We already know that we will not be able to catch the cable car that took us up.

At the cross

With my best friend, I probably wouldn't have climbed without him. Thank you!

Signpost

after a difficult descent and almost wandering among the stones, which way to go, we find a signpost, such a moral point when we know that the goal is not far away, but it will still hurt a lot :-)

Lake Fedaia

how sweet the name sounds to us, Fedaia, finally downstairs, by the car, still drive to the campsite and a happy rest can begin.
