Canaima is the starting point for a boat trip to Salto Angel Waterfall. At the same time, it is a very beautifully situated village by a picturesque lagoon with several waterfalls and, as a bonus, a view of the Table Mountains.

Canaim Lagoon

If we do not count the local airport, the center of life in Canaima is the beautiful lagoon overlooking the waterfalls and table mountains.

Lagoon on the other side

The subsoil is colorful here, so the water also has a quite interesting color. You can bathe here without fear that the river will take you somewhere to the waterfall.

Salto Ucaima Waterfall

The lagoon includes three waterfalls – Salto Ucaima, Salto Golondrina and Salto Hacha. However, since they are quite next to each other, no one really solves which is which. The main thing is that they are nice.

Life by the lagoon

Local women also use the waters of the lagoon to wash dishes or do laundry.

Tourist lodge in Canaima

Tourist lodges are comfortable and fully equipped. In addition, they quite fit into the surrounding landscape.

Development in Canaima

If you go for a walk around the area, which is not bad at all, if you want to see how the locals live, you will see that the local development is really very simple and straightforward.

Smiling children

Children, as everywhere in the world, are smiling and happy to show themselves to you.

Church in Canaima

It should come as no surprise that the most exhibited building in the village is the church.

Sunset over the lagoon

If the weather is nice, it is ideal to walk to the lagoon even at sunset. It's just beautiful.
