Difficulty of hiking trails
The routes are relatively well passable, from the beginning the road is dusty, above it turns into a rocky ascent. Climbing up is feasible, the descents from the saddles are quite steep, so trekking poles are suitable as a support. A long gradual descent to the destination station is on a dirt road, where there are sometimes sections with gravel, which is unpleasantly slippery.
Maps and orientation in the landscape
Before the trek, download offline maps, which will then help you with orientation in the field. Most of the route is clearly visible, but the road may, for example, be harder to find after a major eruption if it comes down somewhere.
