High Atlas and old kasbahs
One of the most beautiful car trips from Marrakech is the crossing of the High Atlas over the pass Tizi-n-Tichka. On the other side of the mountains invite you to visit the ancient kasbahs Anemitér, Telouet and the most famous, beautiful, but overcrowded Ait-Benhaddou. At the end of the day will wait for you the last part of the trip – downhill drive through beautiful valley with picturesque villages to Ouarzazate.

From Marrakech to Ouarzazate
The most famous road through the High Atlas leads from the vast plains surrounding the royal city of Marrakech to pass Tizi-n-Tichka (2 260 m asl), which is quite often blocked by snow in the winter and is then impassable down around the beautiful kasbahs (clay medieval fortress) to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the valley of river Draa and Sahara desert. continue reading
Visit of Telouet

Just a few kilometers below the pass Tizi-n-Tichka is a road junction, where you can turn into the valley leading to interesting kasbahs Telouet and Anemiter and have a look at old Moroccan architecture. If you would like to continue along this small road even further into the valley Ounila perhaps even to the most famous kasbah in Morocco – Ait Benhaddou, you need to have off-road car. Drive to Kasbah Anemiter

If you want to have a look into at least one oasis in the valley of Ounila and visit other nice kasbah surrounded by colorful mountains at the same time, you shall continue on from Telouet along the road number 1506 for about ten kilometers to Anemiter. Along the way, you will manage the mountain ridge separating the two valleys through almost imperceptible pass (1 920 m asl). continue reading

Drive from Atlas to Ouarzazate
Through picturesque valley beneath table
After you pass the turnoff to the old kasbas in Telouet and Anemiter, the small road descends on through the picturesque valley. The reddish rocks that surround the green oasis bordering the river flowing from High Atlas to Ouarzazate. It is one of the sources of the longest Moroccan river Draa. You will also pass the turnoff to perhaps the most famous Moroccan historic building Ait-Benhaddou. continue reading
