- There are similar dangers and risks as in other tourist areas.
- It is appropriate to be acclimatized to the height. National Park Teide and central caldera are at an altitude of about 2 000 m asl. Therefore fast driving here and subsequent ascent to three kilometers may not do you well. And you can suffer even worse altitude sickness by using a cableway to Pico de Teide, because it goes up to a height of 3 555 m asl in about 2 hours.
