Marsa Alam is a popular bathing area in the southeast of Egypt. It is not one resort as it might seem, but basically around 200 kilometers of coastline. The north of the area is around the historic town of El Quseir, where you can go on half-day trips. The center of the area is around the city of Marsa Alam and to the south is the famous Wadi El Gemal National Park. The coast itself has such a character that here desert sections alternate with isolated hotels. Tourists are mainly attracted here by snorkeling and diving in the amazing underwater coral world with dozens of species of brightly colored fish. You can go on organized trips to the desert mountains or, of course, to local famous monuments such as Luxor or Edfu
