Place Rethymno

Rethymno is one of the most charming cities in Crete: it combines a Venetian port, narrow streets of the old town, Ottoman monuments and a long sandy beach right in the center. It is quieter and more suitable for leisurely walks than Heraklion, but livelier than the smaller resorts. It is therefore suitable for romantic walks as well as a practical base for exploring western and central Crete. In addition to the monuments, you will find a beach for a quick swim when the temperatures are getting too much for you. And in the center of the city there is a large park full of greenery with a large playground hidden in the shade.
