Pilatus (2,132 meters above sea level) is not in alpine conditions, a high mountain at all, although the elevation from Lake Alpnacher see (440 meters above sea level) is huge. This mountain massif is famous for the unique cogwheel, which is the steepest in the world. On the top there is a restaurant and many possibilities how to continue on the surrounding peaks
