The timbered track opened in 1898 leading from Zermatt 1602m to Gornergrat 3100m with a length of 9.3km is a great tourist attraction, where you can see 29 alpine giants to the Monte Rosa massif with glacier. Other hikes can be made from here. It is advisable to leave by 8 am.
