The most famous Icelandic gorge
Fjaðrárgljúfur gorge with difficult pronounceable name, located in the south of Iceland near the Kirkjubæjarklaustur area. It is 100 meters deep and about 2 km long, the river Fjaðrá flows through it. The canyon was created for centuries by the gradual erosion caused by the glacial river flowing through the Palagonite rocks.
