Other Sights

Petr Liška Wrote 08.01.2015:

For most foreign tourists, Thailand is mainly a country of islands, beaches and swimming, but in fact it is also a country full of architectural gems. Thousands of Buddhist temples are scattered throughout the country. The most interesting, however, are the partially preserved ruins of the capitals of the former powerful kingdoms – Sukhothai and Ayuthaya

Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country and this is seen at every turn. Temples are not only in cities but quite often on the tops of mountains and hills. The most important and magnificent temples are, of course, in Bangkok. The most important temples: Wat Phra Kaew – the Temple of the Emerald Buddha standing in the grounds of the Great Royal Palace. Wat Pho, sometimes called Wat Phra Chetuphon with the largest reclining golden Buddha 46 meters long
