Thailand is considered a relatively safe country, but even here anti-government demonstrations are on the rise and terrorist attacks have taken place. The greatest natural danger thus remains the possibility of a Tsunami.

Tsunami

Petr Liška Wrote 08.01.2015:

Probably the most famous disaster that struck in the modern history of Thailand or any coastal country in the region has massive tsunami in 2004, which followed a massive undersea earthquake near Indonesia's Sumatra.

Terrorists

Petr Liška Wrote 08.01.2015:

In Thailand, for over ten years there have been clashes of government forces with Muslim separatists in the provinces to the south of the country. Current and largest bomb attack took place in Bangkok August 17, 2015 that killed over 20 people, unfortunately including tourists.

Dangerous creatures

Petr Liška Wrote 08.01.2015:

Snakes: in Thailand as well as in other countries in Southeast Asia, you will find a number of dangerous snakes – both venomous and strangler. The largest of the snakes is the Python reticulatus. The venomous Monocla Cobra (Naja kaouthia) often occurs here. Fortunately, it is active mainly at night.
