Tourist base not only for Dámavnad
The town Rineh (2 050 m asl) located on the upland plain three hundred vertical meters above the river Hazar is a tourist mecca of Iran, mainly due to the state's highest mountain – Mount Damavand. Except for several mosques, one restaurant and dusty main road with shops there is nothing more to see. Therefore, it is surely worth to walk a few hundred meters to the lookout, from where is a perfect view of the valley of river Hazar, the surrounding mountains and green oasis contrasting to the relatively arid landscape.
The mosque and cemetery
The only interesting buildings in Rineh are typical mosques with gold domes. The largest of them is on the western end of town on the road leading to Polour. Next to the mosque is also a cemetery.
Mosque with a view
The most interesting is the view from the main bazaar, where is another mosque built on the slope below the street, so you can enjoy views of Elborz directly through the golden dome. There are also benches, so it is a nice place for relax.
Fields under Rineh
There is not much to do in Rineh. In fact, the only possible walk is a short trip along the road leading down to the valley of river Hazar. From the cultivated edge of the upland plateau is a nice view of the other side of the valley.
View of the oasis and Ebrat
The most beautiful view is after about a kilometer walk along the road. To the right on the horizon is mountain Ebrat, another potential tourist destination in this area except for Damavand.
