Traveling by train

For traveling around the islands, it is most advantageous to purchase the Japan Rail Pass (JRP) both in terms of price and time, even before traveling in the Czech Republic. It is sold in the Czech Republic by Tumlare corporation, which is the only authorized reseller. It can also be purchased online and sent by mail (www.jrpass.com.). The passport is intended for foreign tourists to move around the islands and cannot be purchased in Japan. We chose the 7-day variant for about CZK 8,500. This passport allowed us to enter almost all high-speed trains, except for the most modern Nozomi and Mizuho. The offer also includes 14 days (CZK 14,000) and 21 days (CZK 18,000). The price may seem high, but buying individual tickets will definitely not pay off at their prices (eg a ticket from Kyoto to Tokyo costs CZK 3,000 separately). JRP also applies to inner-city lines in large cities, so you can save on buses and the metro. The JRP also includes a ferry to Miyajima Island.
