Dangerous terrain

Lucie Markova Wrote 15.07.2013:
  • Strong Currents: Currents in the water can be quite strong in some places. Be particularly careful in places where the water leaves the lagoon into the open ocean.
  • Be careful when entering the water – there are often sharp stones.
  • You may wonder why nobody picks even ripe coconuts from the palm trees. And they sometimes really fall, so be careful because it may happen just in time when you are relaxing under them.

Cook Islands are generally safe destination.

Natural disasters

Lucie Markova Wrote 15.07.2013:
  • Cyclones: Cyclone season is November to March, although the islands are hit by a big one only once every five years or so.
