Austria Weather and season
Do you have anything to say about this? Don't hesitate and write your information and experience to help other travelers.
Thanks to its geographical location in Central Europe, Austria has four seasons that offer completely different experiences when visiting.
Spring
The ground begins to turn green and plants and fruit trees begin to bloom. Often there are absolutely ideal days for hiking / in lower positions / and cycling along the great Austrian rivers – sunshine, temperatures around 20 degrees and excellent visibility. Especially in early spring (April) the weather can be very changeable. There is still a lot of snow in the mountains. Skiing on the ice, ski mountaineers are still overcoming three thousand.
Autumm
Usually every year there is a period of nice weather at the turn of September / October, the so-called Indian Summer, when the landscape is the most magical. Especially deciduous forests shine in all colors. Larch in the Alps – a very photogenic part of the year in the mountains. November, on the other hand, is one of the worst months to visit – mostly dry, creepy, short days.
Winter
This is mainly the season for the mountains, when there is an inversion in the lowlands, so the sun is shining in the mountains and you can do all the winter sports.
Overcrowding
Undoubtedly the most touristy place in the country is the center of Vienna, where there is no „peace“ even out of season. You will experience the feeling of light abandonment only on lesser-known mountains, or when you run off the beaten track.
