The largest park in Kuwait
South of downtown Kuwait City is the largest Kuwaiti park, Shaheed. It is basically a green oasis opposite Highway No. 1, which essentially forms its southern border. The park itself is still expanding westward. Phases 1 and 2 of this park are currently completed. The park offers nice views of the city's tallest skyscrapers. Smaller cultural events are also held here.
Western part of the park
We enter the park through the western entrance, so-called phase 2. There is a large pond with a fountain. It is definitely worth going here even at night, when everything is beautifully lit up.
Promenade with palm trees
The park has all the amenities – toilets, cafes, refreshments. Everything is neat and tidy and without a single piece of trash.
View of Liberation Tower
Gradually, a nice view opens up to the west, including the famous Liberation Tower.
Small model city
Between the individual phases of the park, you can walk through an underpass under the highway. You will also find a small model of the city.
Al Tijaryia Tower
The skyscraper next to the park is called Al Tijaryia Tower. It is not one of the tallest in the city, but due to its proximity, it is the most dominant landmark in the area.
View of downtown through greenery
Both phases of the park are about 2 kilometers long. There are also a lot of side trails, so it will take some time to walk through everything.
