Tour of the beautiful souk and swimming in the sea

The city of Al-Kout is located in the very south of the „endless“ Kuwaiti agglomeration. Why make a trip here is simple – it offers a tour of the beautiful souk with huge swimming pools, an observation tower and also nice beaches right next door. Moreover, it is very well accessible by public transport.
Al-Kout Mall
Al-Kout is easily accessible by public transport – bus number 999, which runs almost all the way along the coast with a few detours to nearby towns. Get off at the end of the main street in Al-Kout (be careful, this is not the final stop of the bus, which goes a few hundred meters further to the bus station). It is better to tell the driver that you want to get off at Al-Kout Mall, so that he can tell you. You just turn off the main street and you are right next to this huge shopping mall. Opposite it are other older shops. You can continue to the souq along the street or through the shopping mall.

In front of the souq
Now you will have to cross a relatively busy street at the roundabout. If you go through the shopping center, you will cross the road in an air-conditioned tube.

Fahad Al Ajmi Mosque
There is also a small mosque nearby.

View back to the shopping mall
After crossing the busy road, we are at the souq, which is a complete oasis of peace and tranquility.

Souq and swimming
A tour of the souk is the main attraction of the whole city – in addition to the sound fountains, there is also a fish market and a small observation tower. Then you can continue along the coast to the local beaches. We didn't like the one right next to the souk – there was a lot of washed-up garbage. The next one was nice and tidy.

Oasis in Al-Kout
Perhaps the main reason to go to the very south of the Kuwaiti agglomeration to Al-Kout is the picturesque souq here. You will find shops, cafes, but also a large fish market and a small observation tower from which you can see not only the oil industry starting outside the city but also the beautiful beaches here. The center of the souq is a huge pool with fountains. continue reading

Swimming in the south of the urban agglomeration
Al-Kout is located at the very southern end of the vast Kuwaiti agglomeration. You can easily get here by bus 999, which basically copies the seaside highway and serves the city districts in the south. There are several nice beaches in Al-Kout where you can swim even at low tide. continue reading
Children's bike stores
After exploring the souk and swimming in the sea, we walked a few more streets in the city. In one of them, there were several huge shops selling children's bicycles next to each other.
We go back again by bus 999, which you can catch on the main street. However, the bus is only guaranteed to stop at the bus stop, which is a few hundred meters away.
