Tour of the Old Ships Port and Fish Market
Interesting places near the center
East of the two main landmarks of the city – the Sheikh's Palace and the Grand Mosque – there are three other interesting places. We will first start with a tour of the port of old boats – which are still used fishing vessels. Right next to it is the largest Fish Market in Kuwait. We will save another interesting place – Souq Sharq for later.
Port of old ships
The fishing port is quite large – it is roughly a square with a side of 200 meters. It is strategically located right next to the large and modern building of the largest fish market.

Each fishing boat has a small cabin that looks like a garden house. The boats are literally packed with various necessary equipment
Kuwaiti Fresh Fish Market
Right next to the port is a huge fish market building. You can smell the fishy smell from afar, but there are really many visitors and buyers here.
Huge selection of fish
The selection of fish, crabs, and shrimp is truly huge and it will take a while to go through it all.
Cooling
You will also see the most ice during your entire visit to Kuwait. It needs to be refrigerated to keep the fish fresh for as long as possible.
