Trip to Dayang Bunting Geoforest Park
With an overview, the biggest attraction of the Island Hopping boat trip in Langkawi is the walk to Pregnant Maiden Lake located in the protected area of Dayang Bunting Geoforest Park. It is only a few hundred meters from the boat dock to a beautiful lake surrounded by jungle-covered rocks. At the lake it is possible to rent kayaks, pedal boats, or just swim. Expect that there are always a lot of people here. All cruise ships arrive at roughly the same time in the morning. It used to be a popular walk along the lake, but this trail is currently closed.
Start of the walk
The walk starts at the wharf with a beautiful view of the photogenic rock.
Looking back at the pier
The pier is relatively long, because there is shallow water and thus a significant ebb of the sea.
Entrance to the park
They are very well prepared for visitors here. There is great refreshments. Tickets to the geo park are also bought here + you can already pay extra for some water sports here. There is also a classic warning not to feed the monkeys that are found on the path between the port and the lake.
Monkey
There are really a lot of monkeys here, so it's really not worth fetching water or any fruit here.
Road to the lake
A comfortable footpath leads to the lake, but since you have to cross a low pass from the sea, there are only a few steps waiting for you, which can be relatively exhausting for some in the heat here.
The main pier
We are finally at the lake. The center here is a large pier, where it is really lively. Since the majority of visitors here are locals, who mostly can't swim, almost everyone goes into the water with life jackets.
A place for swimming
The place for swimming is marked with buoys for safety, only various boats and pedal boats sail.
Beautiful surroundings of the lake
If you think about a lot of people here, it's really nice here. The lake is surrounded by beautiful rocks with lush vegetation
Cruising on the lake
It is definitely worth renting a kayak or pedal boat and going out on the lake and exploring it a little more.
View of the wharf
The lake is quite divinely calm, but the harbor is really lively. From this point of view, you can also see the low pass through which you walk back towards the sea.
Rock above the southern part of the lake
From the boat you can also see a massive rock towering over the southern end of the lake. There is a scenic route that is currently closed along it
