They been there:

At the end of a long valley surrounded by high mountains you will find the fabulous Achata beach. Driving here on a narrow road is definitely worth it, because then you can enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches not only in Greece, but around the world.

Mountains above the valley

The journey to Achata Beach begins at the Aperi Bypass. If you drive through the city, you will not come to a turn. Along the way you will have beautiful views of the valley and the mountains surrounding it.

Parking by the beach Achata

The road is about 4.5 km long and for the most part quite narrow. So you will definitely be happy if you don't meet many cars. It is parked on gravel at the end of the valley. In the winter season there is water flowing, in the summer it is completely dry, of course. In the afternoon you may have a problem with parking, how many other tourists can gather here.

Road to Achata beach

From the parking lot it is only a few dozen meters to the beach. You can go along the bed of a seasonal river.

Front view of the beach

The charm of the beach is that it is only 110 meters wide and high rock walls rise immediately at both ends.

View from the cliff

However, if you want to enjoy the proper views, you must take two short walks. The classic leads back along the road to the first bend, from where the footpath leads to the cliff directly above the beach.

Inland views

From the cliff there is also a nice view up the valley you came to.

Panoramic view of Achat

If you want to have a really panoramic view of Achata beach, don't settle for a cliff and climb the goat paths up to the rock walls. The view is really worth it!

Agate in the afternoon

Taking pictures of the beach from the north pays off in the afternoon. The view is as beautiful as the other side.

Tavern under the rock

The local tavern is luxuriously located directly under the rock block. If you want less well-known photos of the beach, you can take a trip to the little-known view. Although the northern part of the mountain wall seems completely impassable at first glance, in places where pines grow, you can quite easily climb relatively high in the wall and then just enjoy.

So you really won't meet anyone on this prospect.
