A curious private museum that has no analogues in our country and probably not in the worl
A private museum of self-grown plants created in the vicinity of the gamekeeper's lodge standing by the Slavonice-Stálkov road about a kilometer in front of the town on the right side. Most of the exhibits are located in the open air, smaller specimens in the garage and the former barn. During the tour, we can wonder what strange wooden shapes can be created by Mother Nature.
Collector Karel Tůma
Collector Karel Tůma lives in a gamekeeper's lodge and started collecting samorosts almost half a century ago and he managed to collect over a thousand specimens. Mr. Tůma has worked all his life as a forest technician, today he is retired and can thus devote himself fully to his lifelong hobby. The Museum of Self-Growths and is open in the summer, especially on weekends: But if you reach Mr. Tůma or make an appointment with him in advance on 607 632 595, he will be happy to show you around the museum at any time.
Outdoor exposure
The outdoor part of the exhibition consists of giant artifacts, figures, strange sculptures, animals, wooden flower pots, climbing frames for bonsai. Around the large fireplace is a bizarre wooden seating area, which can also be rented with friends.
Indoor exposure
Inside the house, in the garage and in the barn, you will find painted objects – from wooden animals to aliens. Everything is freely accessible for a voluntary entrance fee. In agreement with the owner, you can see a cozy hunting lounge decorated with loungers and furs.
Unusual shapes
Some self-growns are quite unusual. In any case, the museum of self-growns is a curiosity that is definitely worth a visit.
