An extensive recreation area in the Pardubice region
16 km southwest of the city of Chrudim is the Seč dam reservoir built on the Chrudimka river. It is a large recreational area that also serves as protection against floods and for water supply purposes.
Dam dam
The water reservoir is held back by a 42-meter-high brick dam with a length of 165 meters. It was built between 1925 and 1934 from granite blocks. A road runs along the crown of the 6.8 meter wide embankment.
Dam reservoir
The romantic reservoir is surrounded by dense forests, the grassy beaches are ideal for swimming and the numerous small bays are very popular with fishermen. The valley dam reservoir is 6.6 km long at maximum swelling and a 20 km long educational trail runs around it
Island
One of the largest isolated islands in the Czech Republic is located on the dam lake. It is a popular destination for excursionists on boats and paddle boats, who head there mainly for the nice sandy beach.
