If you come to Ehrwald from Germany, from Garmisch Partenkirchen, you will be presented with a very beautiful view from the crossroads of the roads of an extremely large meadow full of haystacks, framed by a chain of limestone mountains. The main attraction is the Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze, a majestic pyramid on the horizon. Two cycle paths lead through this meadow, crossing almost in the middle – a tip for a beautiful and easy trip.

Zugspitze massif

Right at the crossroads there is a petrol station where you can stop. Right behind it, a „hay meadow“ begins. Before we head towards it, we raise our heads and can admire the gigantic massif of the Zugspitze – the highest mountain in Germany. A road leads directly from Ehrwald to the parking lot by the cable car to this mountain – the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn

Gaistal Valley

The most beautiful view is probably towards Gaistal – a valley offering lots of opportunities for cycling and mountain hiking.

View of Wannig (2493m)

Looking south you will see the Wannig massif (2493m) on the horizon, where you can take an interesting ridge hike. This mountain already belongs to the Mieming Mountains.

Mountains above Lermoos

The mountains above Lermoos look the least dramatic from here. It is only from here that the local ski resort can be seen.
