Kreuzjochbahn with amazing views

One of the most popular cable cars in the Stubaital Valley is definitely the Kreuzjochbahn. From the town of Fulpmes (1,000m) it takes you more than a kilometer higher to the famous Kreuzjoch viewpoint (2,105m). On the way up, there is an intermediate station waiting for you, where you can also get off or get on and thus combine different tourist circuits. Kreuzjoch itself is not only a viewpoint, but also a great elevated starting point for other tourist destinations.
View of Fulpmes
The lower station of the cable car is located at the western end of the town of Fulpmes. There is a really large parking lot, so you don't have to worry about not being able to fit in here. After just a short drive you have a beautiful view of the picturesque Stubaital valley.

Massif Serles
On the other side of the valley rises the beautiful Serles limestone massif

Kreuzjochbahn Mittelstation
We arrive at Kreuzjochbahn Mittelstation, where more people get on (and head down) than get off. There are children's playgrounds and refreshment options nearby.

Alpine meadows
There are beautiful alpine meadows and nice views around the intermediate station. The popular Froneben alm, half a kilometer away, can also be seen in the photo.

A steep climb up
Only from the intermediate station does the climb really gain strength.

First views to the west
Finally, we get a little above the forest and beautiful views open up to us in a western direction

Final ride
Finally, in the distance we see our destination – Kreuzjoch. At the top right, you can see the well-known Aussichtsplattform Stubaiblick, where the basic and shortest walk from Kreuzjoch leads.

Under the lookout
The cable car runs just below the summit ridge

View of the Kalkkögel
Just before the finish line, this wonderful view of the Dolomites of the Stubai Alps opens up.

Beautiful view from Kreuzjoch
As soon as you get off the cable car, you will fall to your knees – the view from here is really amazing.

Upper cable car station
The upper station of the cable car is really at a crossroads – tourists diverge on several possible routes. It is ideal to continue to the viewpoint first and then to descend into the Schlick valley, which will take you to the intermediate station. Of course, whoever has more strength and time can continue from there to some interesting peak.
