Journey to the most beautiful village in

After leaving dusty Jomsom, the capital town in the Lower Mustang, the journey continues through interesting landscape with nice views mainly of the massif Nilgri. Snow-white spike of Dhaulagiri begins to peep out as the time passes. After six kilometers you reach the village of Marpha, which lies in the middle of this stage. From here you will follow Kali Gandaki valley to the beautiful and clean village Tukuche.
Syang Khola
Just a few hundred meters below Jomsom you go along the bridge across the river flowing from the side valley lined by six thousand high massif.

Nilgri
But the eastern horizon is more interesting – it is dominated by Nilgri ridge (7061 m asl) with its several tops. Early in the morning there is busy air transport between Jomsom and Pokhara, because later in the afternoon there is famous strong wind blowing through Kali Gandaki valley.

View close before Syang
On rocky slopes close before Syang you can see the lone trees fighting for survival in this inhospitable part of Nepal.

Syang
From the landscape full of fields around Kali Gandaki river appears a little unexpectedly a huge gompa in Syang.

Marpha
After an hour's march from Jomsom, you will arrive in Marphy, a pretty Tibetan-style village. Those who do not sleep here have relatively little time to explore. It is also possible to come here as part of a trip around Jomsom.

Dhaulagiri (8172 m asl)
Jeep dusty road stretches from Marpha just a little above the flat wide valley and the horizon begins to be slowly dominated by the seventh highest mountain in the world Dhaulagiri. It exceeds the level of the river Kali Gandaki by absolutely incredible 5600 meters. You can only curse here the ridge veiling a large part of the massif.

Dhaulagiri and the grove
The spike of the mountain still attracts the eyes.

Tukuche
Nice ridge Tukuche occasionally peeks out during the way.

Tukuche town
After approximately twelve kilometers're at the end of this stage. The beginning of the Tukuche is not as ostentatious as the center, but there are interesting large stores of wood for the winter on the roofs of houses.

Ostentatious houses in Tukuche
Totally different architecture than anywhere else in Nepal can be seen in Tukuche. There are beautiful white plasters and wooden balconies.
Center of Tukuche
The walk from Jomson to the center of Tukuche can take even four, five hours in spite of the fact that it is only 12 kilometers. It depends a lot on whether you make a break in Syang to see the gompa, Marpha or how long you admire the views of Dhaulagiri.
End of the village Tukuche
Tourists that continue on foot along the western part of the trek around Annapurnas are usually divided into two groups. The first group goes from Muktinahu on foot up to here in Marpha and then sleep there and only go through Tukuche next day . The second group walks only to Jomson and then and then to sleep here or in Kalopani. Anyway, it is necessary to point out that Tukuche is much nicer and interesting than Jomson.
