Travel within cities

The easiest way to travel within Ha Giang is by scooter / motorcycle. Motorbike rental for 1 day approx. CZK 100. We paid CZK 75 for a full tank. If you do not feel like a motorcycle, you can still use Grab Taxi. It's the same as Uber here.

Travelling by bus

Miška Šiška Wrote 05.11.2017:

There are only a few ways to get to the Ha Giang area of Hanoi. The first is a bus, the next is a car, motorbike or limousine, as the Vietnamese call it. Read the limousine as a minibus. Since we could not choose a motorcycle due to time constraints, we did not have a car and we did not know about the limousine at that time, we chose a bus, which was advised by a local Vietnamese woman. You could tell from the expressions on our faces that she forgot to mention that it was a sleeping bus. On the contrary, it was clear from the expression of the passengers that tourists are not very common there. 1st advice – those who have not yet ridden in a sleeping car, I do not recommend having the first ride at 7 o'clock and not at all on Vietnamese roads. After one passenger warned us to take off our shoes and put them in a prepared bag, we found free beds and went to bed. 2nd row – there are bunk beds in the bus. If you are taller, I do not recommend choosing to lie on top. The air conditioner will roll right in your ear and you won't have much space to straighten up. As soon as we reached a narrow and winding road leading up north, the driver pressed the horn with his hand to signal everyone to get out of his way and start overtaking in corners. 3rd advice – one who does not do a well-discontinuous ride, I recommend kinedril. All buses, including the limousine, run this style of driving. Tip 4 – if you feel very bad on the buses, a shoe bag that you received when entering the bus (taken away from the locals, in a few minutes after them and personally tested) will suffice. Tip 5 – Since you don't pay for a seat on the bus, but for a ride, I recommend boarding earlier than the last ones, because you may be sitting in a Turkish seat in an alley between the beds crammed with other passengers. Price for one person 200 000 VND (200 CZK) / one way The bus is equipped with air conditioning and a screen with a Vietnamese singer, who is played out loud for everyone throughout the ride. Limousine (or minibus) Far more space comfort. The minibus can accommodate about 8 people and at least from the experience of our driver, he did not take more people than he had seats. The minibus is equipped with air conditioning and a blanket to cover, which you will appreciate, because in general Vietnamese let more air conditioning than we are used to. The driving style was even more aggressive than that of the bus driver. This is evidenced by the fact that we managed a seven-hour journey in 3.5 hours. Here the driver did not let go of the horn of the horn almost at all and we spent most of the trip in the opposite direction. We only returned to our lane if we were blown away by a larger vehicle than ours. Price of a limousine for one person 250,000 VND (250 CZK) / one way

It seems like the best choice, but here I recommend looking out for bus drivers, because it often happened that bikers had to get off the road to the edge in front of the bus.
