The ruins of the famous Dívčí Kámen castle stand on a tactical place, on a rocky promontory protected on one side by the Vltava and on the other by the Křemžský brook. If you leave from Třísov, a circuit about 3.5 km long awaits you with several interesting stops. In addition, you can extend the circuit with a short walk to the excellent restaurant „Hamr Dívčí Kámen“: www.gigaplaces.com/homepage-v2/out ReklamaId = 26 and replenish your energy here

Memorable Třísovská lime tree

The ideal start to this trip is in Třísov. On the one hand, there is a train station and also a car park right at the beginning of the busy circuit (free of charge). Not even after thirty meters, the beautiful large Třísovská lime tree is one of the largest linden trees in South Bohemia. Here we will leave the red mark (we will return after it) and set out on an educational trail

The first view of the ruins of Dívčí Kámen

From the beginning, the path leads really comfortably to a meadow landscape just a short distance from the former Celtic town of Třísov, of which only two lines of ramparts remain to this day. At the end of the meadow you will reach the edge of the Křemžský brook valley from where the first and probably the best view of the ruins is.

Dívčí kámen paddling camp

From the vantage point you will descend to the Vltava. You will reach a crossroads at a dilapidated farmhouse, where the nature trail turns left. If you want to eat, drink or bathe in the Vltava, turn right and even after 100 meters you are at the Dívčí kámen paddling camp

Road along the Křemžský brook

From the camp, take the shortcut along the water (if you don't want to return to the crossroads) and reconnect to the nature trail after a while. After a small bridge you will cross the Křemžský stream and continue along it to the entrance to the castle.

Ascent to the castle Dívčí Kámen

The road bypasses the ruins from the south and sometimes through the vegetation you can see the walls above you. The entrance to the ruins (paid) is at the second bridge over the Křemžský stream. An ascent along a wall enclosed by walls is waiting for you

You go through the gate and you are in a large courtyard. The classic view of the entire ruin is from the eastern end

A tour of Dívčí Kámen Castle

The center of the ruins is a huge main palace. At the time of its greatest glory, it must have been a really impressive building!

Girl's rock

From the castle you can also see the interesting Dívčí skála, which is on the other side of the valley. The Girl's Rock is almost vertical and 70 meters high

A secret view of the bend of the Vltava and the Dívčí Kámen castle

If you want to improve this trip even further, go to the best and at the same time „secret“ view, which is from the rocky promontory Dívčí skála (yes, the one that is directly opposite the ruins). The starting point for the lookout is about halfway between the ruins of Dívčí Kámen and Hamr Dívčí kámen: at the end of a dam with pools connected by small waterfalls, there is a white arrow to the left uphill on a telegraph pole. You will continue following the white arrows on the trees. Upstairs you will come to a signpost. On the right, the braver can climb the final cliff and enjoy the unique view. To the left, follow the arrows to comfortably walk to the second beautiful viewpoint.

Road to the restaurant of the pension Hamr Dívčí Kámen

If you want to eat or stay very well so that you can really explore the beautiful surroundings, head from the crossroads under the castle along the yellow hiking trail. Just walk a few hundred meters through the picturesque valley of the Křemžský brook and you are at the beautifully renovated „Hamr Dívčí kámen“: www.gigaplaces.com/homepage-v2/out ReklamaId = 26

Restaurant Pension Hamr Dívčí Kámen

Restaurant Pension Hamr Dívčí Kámen is interesting for tourists for two reasons. On the one hand, it is a nice historical building, whose history dates back to the end of the 17th century. Although the building was damaged during the well-known floods in 2002, a major reconstruction has taken place here since 2012, so it is no longer recognizable at all. The second reason to stop here is the famous home-made Czech cuisine in a stylish restaurant with a beautiful oven. In addition, it is possible to stay in beautiful rooms. 150 meters from the house there is also a beautiful view of Kleť in the meadow, ideal for a picnic (you can also get here by following the white signs)

Ascent above the valley

From Hamr you can either take a short walk along the footpath or return to the crossroads and follow the red road back over the valley. The last views of Dívčí Kámen, Dívčí Skála and the valley leading further to Hamr Dívčí Kámen open.

View of the Blanský forest

After you step out of the forest, you will have a nice view of the Blanský Forest. From here, it is only a short walk to the memorable lime tree, or rather to the beginning of this circuit

Celtic oppidum Třísov

The last attraction on this tour is a short visit to the town of Třísov just before the end of the circuit. On the left side of the road is the signposted gate opposite, which you will pass. Slightly to the left across the meadow you will come to other information signs, where you will learn about the history of the southernmost seat of the ancient Buoys. The path ends at the stone mound.
